The Last First

I have just been thinking about Hannah's last-First Day of Preschool. Next year she will be off to Kindergarten and it is a little bitter sweet. I love having her home so much who knows what kind of mess I will be in next year.  I keep thinking about putting Parker in preschool already so I can have some time to work and it makes me super sad to think of my sweet boy already old enough for school.  I just pray he enjoys being my work buddy for as long as possible.

Hannah is 4 now, almost four and a half and she loves school so much!  She already wishes she could go everyday and asks me when she can start Kindergarten.  She is starting Museum School on Friday she could not be more excited!

Parker is 11 months!

So I did a pretty terrible job taking pictures this month but I have several movies of walking that I might someday post. ;-)
This month Parker went on his second vacation.  This trip was to Lake Travis I did not take my camera out of the diaper bag the entire time.  I have hard copies of the grandparents photos but that really doesn't help the blog.  Also this month Parker officially became a walker!  He is walking all over the house, taking U-turns standing up without pulling up and he actually is preferring walking to crawling.  This month Parker also got to visit the nursery for the first time.  Yes I am weird about the nursery.  Every time Hannah went she had a panic attack and came home with some disease so I have put it off but Ladies class started last week so Parker got to go to class too.  He did great and loved on Ms. Ashley.  I can't wait for him to have a great time in there!  Parker also started waving goodbye and saying "bye bye"  It is so precious and we make him do it all the time!
Parker is still my little guy.  We are just now putting away all the 6-9m clothes and staring in awe at the 12-18m clothes I pre-bought him for winter that look twice his size.  He is such a happy and healthy baby and he will eat anything that you put in front of him!  He now is eating a lot of finger/toddler food in addition to milk and baby food.  He has lots of bread, his favorite, crackers, carrots, carrot chips, green beans, black beans, veggie chips, cheese, eggs, mashed potatoes, strawberries, blackberries, and yogurt.

Parker Stats: 18.2lbs

Parker is 10 months

Parker is 10 months and I am pround to say he made it this far!
Do you ever do things like make sure you have leave the car seat, just in case.  Or know where to go in an emergency, just in case.  Always knowing that nothing bad will happen?  Well this month something bad happened.  Parker got a hood stuck in his eye.  Or rather his eye stuck on a hook, attached to a dresser.  We had a traumatic 9th month!  After several stitches and stint for his tear duct he is back to normal!
We have had an incredibly hectic 9th month.

Week one started out with a nursing strike.  If you have not heard of that you are not alone.  I could not figure out why my baby would not want my ample and delicious milk.  After talking to my good friend and midwife Kelli, she filled me in.  He did not nurse for two days and after about 36 hours he finally figured out how to take a bottle.
The end of the week was our 9 month check up with our new pediatrician.  She was not happy with Parker's weight and there was some disagreement with her assessment.  So long story very short, we are on to pediatrician number 4 in two months.
Two days after Parker had surgery he started standing up on his own!  and a week later he took his first steps!  He is such a big boy for being such a little guy!
This month he also did not sleep through the night for 26 days in a row.  That was the longest he has ever gone since birth.  We are still not back to normal from teething and surgery it has been so long since we cried it out successfully that we really need to get back in the swing of things.
Parker also started saying Hannah this past week he actually says "Nannah" and usually is yelling it but it is so precious to see him calling his sister.  He is up to several discriminate words now.  Mama, Dada, Nannah, and Ba (ball)
Parker is still one of the sweetest, happiest babies I have ever seen!  He always has the best smile on his face and I love him so much it hurts!  One of my favorite things about him is that he gives them most amazing hugs.  I am not sure if it is because he is a baby or because he never is still but he will give me a hug for 10+ seconds and it is wonderful.
On an unrelated manor...Grangran, Aunt Carleen, Parker and I took Hannah to the American Girl store last week.  I have not had that much fun all summer!  We will be going again soon!

Parker Shopping

Parker has Surgery

So yesterday was exciting!
Many of you are asking about the details so here is the fun story.
Yesterday Parker was playing and having a lot of fun in his room.  He has been trying to walk with all his might and has been practicing by holding on to furniture and walls (as shown below).
We have some toy baskets that hang on small wire command hooks attached to his changing table.
The basket was on the floor and the hook was exposed.  As Parker was cruising the changing table he slipped and fell, eye first, on the hook.  It went into his eye at the tear duct and I had to remove said hook.  I am still having horror movie type nightmares.
We went to Cook's ER and saw a Ophthalmologist who determined that he needed stitches in his eyelid and while he was under he would look at his tear duct and tear duct tubes (my technical words)  and the rest of his eye to make sure there was no further damage.
Parker's tear ducts were damaged and needed a stint that will be removed later but his eye was not hurt at all!
So he will have no permanent damage other than the small possibility of a scar on his eye lid.
Surgery was around 7:00pm last night and we had him home in bed around 11:00pm.  He woke up about 7:00am and after nursing he took multiple rounds around the house on his shopping cart then proceeded to cruise the walls and furniture as if nothing happened yesterday.
Praise God he made babies to be incredibly self healing and resilient!

Parker is 9 months

Parker is 9 months today!!
My little rascal is getting into everything!!!
He started crawling right at the beginning of this month and he is just about over it and ready to walk.
He crawls all over the house and gets into everything, knocks over tables, lamps, pulls everything off the tops of tables.  He likes to empties anything that has anything in it, as shown with the trash.
Parker started cruising from one piece of furniture to the next and is climbing on top of and over everything in his path.   He is so different from his sister, who didn't crawl until she started running everywhere.

Parker loves to play with Hannah's toys, especially when she is at school and he can tear it all up. :)

Hannah and Parker love playing together so much.  He face lights up when she is around and when she is not in her carseat he is honestly sad and keeps looking for her.

He is still the sweetest, happiest, smileyest baby ever and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful son!
Parker's 9 month stats:
Weight: 16.2lbs - less than 5%
Height 27" 5-10%
FOC: 45cm
